The Novelist® has a streamlined profile with a straight barrel that tapers with a little curve down at the end and a cap with a slightly rounded finial. The taper at the end of the barrel can be a straight taper, or it can have a “step” to the taper to make it look a bit spiffy. (The original design had the step, but many customers just want the straight taper.)
