New Year, New Opportunities: 2026 Commissions & Material Updates

Happy New Year! As we step into 2026, I have two important updates regarding custom orders and our signature metal appointments.

2026 Custom Commission Openings  Starting January 1st, Scriptorium Pens is officially accepting a limited number of commissioned orders for the year. While my primary focus is shifting toward ready-to-ship stock pens, I still love the process of bringing your specific ideas to life. If you have a specific vision in mind for a bespoke pen, I encourage you to reach out soon.

This shift will allow me to spend more time at the bench refining designs and processes, while still offering a small number of custom pieces for those who prefer a commissioned pen.

A Note on Silver, Brass, and Bronze  Due to sharp increases in silver and other metal prices over the past year, my silversmith will be sunsetting the production of cast clips, rollstops, and silver tubing once his current stock is depleted.

  • What this means for you: Cast silver, brass, & bronze clips, rollstops, and silver bands are now available on a “while supplies last” basis.
  • What remains available: I will continue to offer bronze and brass bands (made in-house from rod stock), as well as our full range of plated steel clips (24k Gold, Nickel Silver, and Black Oxide).

If you are interested in a commission featuring cast clips, rollstops, or silver bands, I encourage you to place your order early. Once materials are gone — or commission slots are filled — these options will no longer be available.

Working at a small scale has always meant responding to materials as they are — sometimes abundant, sometimes limited, always shaping the work in subtle ways. These changes are a natural part of that process, and I appreciate the understanding and continued support of those who have been following my work for many years.

I look forward to an exciting year ahead with you!
